Today, the name of Jesus is high above every name. No name is so widely known and honored; no name more precious to young and old alike. The angel announced at His conception, “He shall save His people.”

This name does not indicate political power. It does not speak military triumphs, nor promise material success. What makes the name appropriate for Mary’s Son is its prophetic significance. Matthew 1:21
