The American Flag was at “half-staff” on Friday, in remembrance of 9/11. September 11, 2001 was an historical day in the United States, as terrorists with Islamic backgrounds attacked our country, particularly in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. We remember…we pray for the families directly impacted, and wonder about the direction of our beloved homeland.
One of the radio reports this past Friday involved an interview of college students at George Mason University. They were asked why the attack in 2001 happened, who orchestrated it, etc. The common answer was “I don’t know.” Others said, “Because of money.” Others said, “We made someone mad.” None of the students interviewed had any semblance of an idea of what the truth is. The truth is, Islamic terrorists attacked the U.S. because they look to us as infidels, as Satan’s workers, deserving of death.
Ignorance of history is both shameful and dangerous. More importantly, do our youth know why Jesus came to the earth? Do they know why they go to church? Do they know the Bible? Do they know why they are here? etc. etc. Do they know the nature of God? Do they know the ancestry of Christ? Do they know about the glories of heaven or the tormen of hell? etc. etc.
