Everywhere

Everywhere

With our little ones, we sing, “His fingerprints are everywhere just to show how much He cares.” The Lord truly wants us to know about Him. He is everywhere (Psalm 139:7-10) and He has not “left himself without witness” (Acts 14:17).

The Lord’s fingerprints are upon His creation. “When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the sun, moon and stars which thou hast ordained; what is man that thou art mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:3-4) “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims His handiwork” (Psalm 19:1). Romans 1:20 affirms that God’s “eternal power and divine nature” are clearly seen by the things which are made. “Every house is built by someone, but He that built all things is God” (Hebrews 3:4). “He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying our hearts with food and gladness” (Acts 14:17).

The Lord’s fingerprints are upon our bodies. Our bodies were carefully “knit together in our mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13). Yes, we are fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). Every day, our bodies operate like a machine. Each part of our bodies is arranged as the Lord chose (cf. I Cor. 12:18). How can we live and not see His glory?

Our heart and soul also bear the imprint of God’s fingers. Being made In His image (Gen.1:26, 27), we possess the ability to choose (Josh. 24:15), feel (2 Peter 1:5-8), grow (Luke 2:52) and love (Matt. 22:37-39). With these qualities, the possibilities of spiritual growth and closeness to God are rich indeed. With open hearts, we can look into the word of God and be transformed into the image of God (2 Cor. 3:18).

God’s fingerprints are also upon the Bible. God is eternal and so is the Bible (Matt. 24:35). God is decent and orderly (I Cor. 14:33, 40) and His word leads to a godly and orderly life (Matt. 6:33). The heavenly Father is perfectly holy and loving (Isa. 6:3; I John 4:7, 8) and if one follows the pattern of the New Testament, he won’t be perfect, but he will be grounded in holiness and love.

He is everywhere.
